French Lesson # 22

Dear frenchies,

My name is Hanna and I’m a swede living in Paris since a few years back and I love this city. I have learned to speak your language and I have also manage to understand and take part of your culture. I could see myself living here a few years more but there is one thing I need to set straight which involves the french people’s ignorance.

Why is so important for you guys to ask why I have an accent when I speak french? If you understand what I’m saying to you, do I have a hard time understanding the reason why you need to point out that I don’t sound like you.

Why is it so hard for you guys to believe me when I say that I’m from Sweden? I’m well aware that I’m not blond with blue eyes so no, you don’t have to point that out for me.

Why is it that you think that you have the right to laugh and think that my honest answers about my background is a joke? I honestly had no idea french people knew this little about countries so close to France.
